Learn the basics

There are four tutorial levels in Fireboy and Watergirl 4: Crystal Temple. The opening stage walks you through the basic controls, and the remaining three introduce the different elements and mechanics you'll encounter throughout the game — including how to use crystal portals to your advantage.

Collect diamonds for higher ratings

Each level scatters red and blue diamonds across the map — only Fireboy can collect the red ones, and only Watergirl can grab the blue ones. Collecting diamonds isn't required to finish a level, but gathering them boosts your end-of-stage rating. Earning a Rank A demands near-perfect diamond collection alongside solid puzzle execution.

Cooperate with a friend

In this game, Fireboy and Watergirl must work together to overcome challenges and reach the final door. It's best to play with a friend and share a keyboard, but you can also play solo.

Face new challenges

Every Fireboy and Watergirl installment introduces a signature mechanic, and Crystal Temple is no different. This time, color-coded crystal portals teleport characters — and moveable objects — to matching locations elsewhere on the map. Mastering portal logic, combined with the returning ice and light mechanics from previous games, is what makes each stage feel genuinely fresh.
